Position Overview:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the tools, processes, and infrastructure needed to enable continuous integration, continuous delivery, and overall operational excellence.
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand application requirements and ensure infrastructure meets scalability, availability, and performance needs.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automating the build, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Work with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure resources.
- Manage and maintain cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost optimization.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable and resilient application deployments.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues, both in development and production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure automation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field (or equivalent work
experience).
- Proven experience (2-3 years) as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong track record of implementing successful DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
